Prayer of the Day

Almighty and ever-living God, you hate nothing you have made, and you forgive the sins of all who are

penitent. Create in us new and honest hearts, so that, truly repenting of our sins, we may receive from

you, the God of all mercy, full pardon and forgiveness through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and

Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Or

Gracious God, out of your love and mercy you breathed into dust the breath of life, creating us to serve

you and our neighbors. Call forth our prayers and acts of kindness, and strengthen us to face our

mortality with confidence in the mercy of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns

with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Prayer of the Day

Lord God, our strength, the struggle between good and evil rages within and around us, and the devil

and all the forces that defy you tempt us with empty promises. Keep us steadfast in your word, and

when we fall, raise us again and restore us through your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives

and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

O God, our leader and guide, in the waters of baptism you bring us to new birth to live as your children.

Strengthen our faith in your promises, that by your Spirit we may lift up your life to all the world through

your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,

now and forever.

Merciful God, the fountain of living water, you quench our thirst and wash away our sin. Give us this

water always. Bring us to drink from the well that flows with the beauty of your truth through Jesus Christ,

our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

O God, from the family of your servant David you raised up Joseph to be the guardian of your incarnate

Everlasting God, in your endless love for the human race you sent our Lord Jesus Christ to take on our

nature and to suffer death on the cross. In your mercy enable us to share in his obedience to your will

and in the glorious victory of his resurrection, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,

now and forever.

Or

Sovereign God, you have established your rule in the human heart through the servanthood of Jesus

Christ. By your Spirit, keep us in the joyful procession of those who with their tongues confess Jesus as

Lord and with their lives praise him as Savior, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,

now and forever.

O God of mercy and might, in the mystery of the passion of your Son you offer your infinite life to the
